Patients are referred to a specialist oral surgeon or periodontist for the surgical implant placement.  This is done in the surgery using local anaesthetic.
The restorative phase is done by Dr. Kushner after a period of 6 to 10 weeks.  In certain cases the implant can be restored immediately.
An implant can be used to replace a missing tooth with an implant retained crown.

Placement of dental implants can stop or slow down bone resorbtion.
